Shadow draws her into his plan by speaking against Raksha. She uses her strength when the villains seize Raksha, raising the stakes for the Spendens.

Hai Girl spent a long time being noticed for her strength and overlooked for everything else. Shadow recognizes that frustration and offers her a chance to matter, while hiding what his plan will cost Raksha and the lake. Her choice puts her beside a dangerous ally, but her own goal may still differ from his.
