Silver-Man today
He stands beside Ohio-Man because he once learned that the person who stays to count everyone matters as much as the person who opens the door.
He sees the small details in a crisis, especially the people who have gone quiet.

01🪞 BeforeThe keeper of the lightsOpen chapter
Silan worked the late shift at a busy station. He checked the signal lamps, walked the platforms, and pointed sleepy travelers toward the right train. He knew the schedules by heart and could tell when a lamp was about to fail by the way it flickered. Still, he avoided speaking to crowds. He thought a quiet worker was easy to replace.
Each night he carried a small silver signal mirror, polished bright enough to catch a distant lamp. His father had used it before him. Silan treated it like an old tool, never imagining that one night people would remember him by its shine.
02🚉 The turning pointDarkness on the lower platformOpen chapter
One evening the station lost power while rainwater rushed down the lower stairs. The lamps went dark, the doors jammed, and travelers began pushing toward the wrong exit. Silan tried the door himself. It would not move. Across the platform he could see one emergency light still burning, just beyond the smoke and rain.
His hands shook as he raised the mirror and caught its glow. He reflected the light down the dry service passage and called out one instruction at a time. People stopped running in circles and followed it. When the last group reached the stairs, Silan spotted a dropped ticket beside a bench. He had counted one fewer person than the tickets at the gate. The missing child was still there, curled up and too frightened to move. Silan went back for them.
03⭐ The first choiceThe last person outOpen chapter
Outside, the child told everyone about the man with the silver light. “Silver-Man” caught on before Silan could object. He disliked the attention, but he kept the mirror in his pocket. It reminded him of the child behind the bench and of the count that had sent him back.
Later, at another emergency, he met Ohio-Man. Ohio-Man cleared a route through fallen debris, but Silan noticed a family still waiting behind it. He asked the stronger hero to stop and help them across. Ohio-Man listened. Their partnership started there: one would open the path, and the other would make sure nobody was left on the wrong side.
